Political leader of the Congress Of the People,   Prakash Ramadah, says his decision to stay with the People's Partnership government was like keeping a convenant with the people of Trinidad and Tobago.

Speaking at a political meeting in Malabar last evening he said in the face of public criticism, to have separated the COP from the partnership would have been wrong.

According to  Mr. Ramadah  the COP’s positon contributed to a better government.

MORE than a year after the as-yet-unsolved murder of senior counsel Dana Seetahal , a book has been published of her commentaries and speeches. President Anthony Carmona headed the list of dignitaries at the gala event.

The book was launched on Ms Seetahal’s birthday at the Atrium, The Falls at Westmall.

Members of the judiciary, former students of Seetahal’s and staff from Ma Pau Members’ Club, one of Seetahal’s favourite liming spots, attended.

President Carmona, echoing a statement made earlier by Seetahal’s nephew, Devanand Persad, said justice will be served and is “inevitable”.

I started working at the Family Focus Broadcasting Network in October of 2002. This opportunity came after working for some ten (10) years as a Trinidad-based News-reporter and Correspondent for the now defunct Caribbean News Service (CNS), located in Miami.

My academic background consists of a full Cambridge O” level certificate, a Certificate and Diploma in electrical installation and a Diploma in Mass Communication from the Academy of Media Arts.

Initially I began working primarily for the foreign media companies, and then I got into local media joining I.S.A.A.C 98.1 FM in 2002. I believe voicing talent has allowed me to do numerous radio commercials and media projects.

My ambition is to be even more involved in the media. Currently, I serve as a News Writer and Presenter at I.S.A.A.C 98.1 FM.

Journalism is my life.  I enjoy the hustle, tension, pressure, anticipation and deadlines that surround the producing and packaging of each newscast. There is a certain excitement when I run down and write a story from scratch, yes I still write stories – I am a journalist first. It is most exciting when I only have mere minutes to complete the top story, write the headlines, print the international story and make it to the studio on time to read the news.

I am a humble young woman and began my media career in 2000 in Toco at community radio station - Radio Toco 106.7FM. Since then I have worked at a few other media houses and the Government Information Service (GIS) before settling down at I.S.A.A.C 98.1fm in 2005.

Currently, I am reading for my BA in Mass Communication at COSTAATT, which I expect to complete by the end of 2013. I have also successfully completed my Associate’s Degree in Journalism/Public Relations and will officially graduate in November 2012. Following my BA I would like to quickly jump right back in to do my Masters in Mass Communication.

When I am not writing a story or a paper/project for school - which is seldom - I enjoy being a pillion motorcycle rider, watching television, cooking or getting lost in a really good romance novel.
